BIO:

Angela was recruited to the sport by her Kindergarten teacher in China.  Her teacher thought Angela was smart and athletic so her table-tennis career began in Shanghai, China.  She has traveled all over China playing for the Shanghai provincial team.  2-time World Men's Singles Champion Wang Liqin is one of her favorite players and Angela knows him personally as they share the same Shanghai roots.  She said "a lot of people in China play table-tennis" when asked about the popularity of table-tennis in China.  That is a safe comment to make as there are 1 MILLION PROFESSIONAL players supported by the government and 100 million people that play the sport in her native country!

Angela has the best-known wins out of the Northern California players.  She has defeated 3-time Olympic Gold Medalist Wang Nan and her Chinese National Team teammate Yang Ying when they were all the same age of 15.  Angela has qualified to play the Chinese Nationals twice and reached the quarterfinals of a Chinese All-City Junior Tournament for ages 16-18.  She was a coach at the Oakland club when she moved to the US but now spends most of her time with her son Mason.
