BIO:
Atha followed in the footsteps of her elder sister Kyna and
elder brother Conan who were both playing table-tennis. She started at age
seven at the Concord club and now trains at the Palo Alto club as well under
the supervision of Dennis Davis. When asked how many national titles she
had, she humbly said "Too many too count!" Her biggest accomplishments are
winning the Joel Ferrell Award for good sportsmanship at the Junior Olympics
and winning the Pan American Cadet Girls Singles title in 2003. In the
2004 tryouts for the girls national team, Atha was one match away from
making the team and in 2005, she made the girls national team in the #2
position. She has been ranked #1 in the US for her age group and wants to
"reach the pinnacle of [her] potential." She recently was admitted to
Stanford University and will join her sister Kyna there this fall. She played golf for fun on her
high school team. |
