Daniel started his table-tennis career through his friends who were his first practice partners in Oakland. He has kept at it since as he considers table-tennis his favorite sport. He likes the spin, speed, and feeling of the ball on the paddle when struck but admits that nets and edges drive him crazy. He has been coached by Wu Wei Yang and considers his biggest accomplishments to be winning the juniors at the 2002 San Francisco Open, the 2003 Daly City Open, and the under 2125 at the 2005 Stanford NATT tourney. His favorite player is 4-time World Cup Champion Ma Lin and Daniel enjoys singing and dancing.
