Dave lived the first twelve years of his life in Sweden and has the unique combination of being part-Swedish, part-Chinese, and part-Russian.  Dave, why aren't you World Champion?  There are probably very few people who have both Swedish and Chinese in them.  Dave played beer pong in high school and with a friend at Church and during the 2001-2002 Christmas break, he went to San Diego to visit a friend and they looked online if there was a bar with ping-pong tables.  Instead, he found out about the San Diego Table Tennis Association and then on returning home, he looked to see if there were places to play up here in NorCal.  The Foster City Table Tennis Club was only 5 blocks from his house and he started playing there, kept improving, and kept at it.

Dave, being Mr. Confident, hopes to beat the "little kids" like Misha Kazantsev, Trevor Runyan, Auria Malek, Sean Lee, and Barney Reed in upcoming matches.  He has traveled in the US to Chicago, Reno, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and San Diego for tournaments and doesn't feel he has accomplished anything yet.  He has crossed 2250 on two separate occasions but only stayed at that rating for a few weeks.  His favorite players are Jan-Ove Waldner and Jorgen Persson of Sweden who have won a combined 11 World Championships.  They are his favorites because they are Swedish and "they're pretty good too I guess."  He plays private detective all day on the internet for his profession in the field of strategic sourcing and hopes this league gives him "celebrity status!"  Way to dream big Dave!
