| BIO:
Growing up in China, table-tennis is a natural activity for kids and Heather took up the sport there at the age of eight. Every school in China has a table-tennis program, similar to basketball here. She would come home from school at 4 PM and head to table-tennis class from 5PM til 8 PM on a daily basis. She played for the Xian Province Team and would travel a lot during the summertime playing matches against other teams with all expenses paid. At the age of 14, her parents started thinking about Heather's future and decided that she should attend high school and college in America. She started taking English classes at Guangzhou(Canton) Foriegn Language University so she would be prepared when she moved to America at age 16. When she moved here, Heather stayed with family friends. After college, she worked for a law firm for 6 months and soon had to do soul-searching. Heather saw a lot of potential in table-tennis and founded and co-owns Go Table Tennis which is one of America's leading table-tennis companies. She is primarily busy with that and also does some business with China. She assists her family with their family businesses as well and sometimes travels for it. Her favorite player is American player Gao Jun who plays the pips-out penhold style as well. Heather would often see Gao on TV in China when Gao was playing for the Chinese National Team before their moves here. |
