Kevin is a resident of East Oakland and graduated from Albany High School in high school, he tried to improve his grades at school while holding a job at KFC and taking a night course. He hopes to get into a university in California and wants to continue to play table-tennis while attending university. His big goal is to make the men's national team.
Under the coaching of Masaaki Tajima, Kevin has made the cadet national team and been ranked #1 in the US for under 16 years old. He actually did not know that he was ever ranked #1 in the US for his age until somebody told him. He was the 2004 national champion in his rating level and was three spots away from making the junior national team for that year.
