| BIO:
Myron's father was a good table-tennis player in the city of Kaochow near Canton, China and started feeding Myron multi-ball at the age of 7. Myron joined his school's team at the age of 8 and became a chopper. When Myron was in an elementary school competition and his school lost to another school, his coach cried and Myron and his schoolmates apologized to the coach for losing. Myron's coach said it's ok but this was his school's 10th consecutive year finishing second! When he was in high school, his family moved to Hong Kong and he quit table-tennis until 1993 when he was in the US and met another league player in Bunny Lee. He has played here since and now contributes to table-tennis by helping junior and senior players at his club increase their interest in the sport. His best win was over senior star Dave Sakai at the 2004 NATT Western Open. The variations of spin, speed, and accuracy and the attempt to master them fascinates him. However, he wishes it was more popular like basketball in the US. His favorite player is Kalinikos Kreanga of Greece as Myron feels he has the best backhand in the world. He practices with Bunny Lee and is coached currently by C.K. Cheung who was a famous player in Canton before. Table-tennis is Myron's favorite sport with badminton coming in second. He works for a medical company in Fremont and is involved with R &D and laser technology. He is married with a 7-year old son who has just begun playing and Myron hopes his son's sport of choice will soon be table-tennis. |
