BIO:
Living in India, cricket naturally became the sport of his choice in his younger years.  It is like a religion in India where the entire country stops if there is an important match, especially against rival Pakistan.  He played cricket for his school until a new coach came who Praful did not like and so, Praful dropped out from his cricket team.  He went into a rec room and saw two guys playing table-tennis.  He played one of them who defeated Praful and laughed at Praful.  Immediately, he enrolled in table-tennis classes and within one month, he defeated the guy who laughed at him and he was hooked onto the sport and played daily.  Within six months, he was the top player in his school.

Table-tennis, to his liking, gives him work on the combination of physical and mental agility.  He says that strategy is even more important than technique and finds it interesting that a better player can lose with the wrong strategy.  However, playing long pips is his achilles heel.  His favorite player used to be Jan-Ove Waldner but now it is Wang Liqin.  Not bad choices for a favorite player!  He trains 2-3 times a week at the India Community Center and trains with Rajul Sheth and other ICC members.  His hobbies include reading, listening to music, and playing the sythesizer, cricket, badminton, chess, and carrom.  Recently, his wife gave birth to a baby girl named Jia and so begins another chapter in his life.
