BIO:
Sally started playing table-tennis at age six in China.  She grew up in Tianjin, China which was the host city of the 1995 World Championships when China regained dominance in the table-tennis world as its players won all seven events.  Sweden had won the previous 3 World Men's Team Championships so China celebrated when it regained this most desired and elusive title.  In the team final, China had Kong Linghui and Liu Guoliang as reserves and I think it's safe to say they did not do too bad after that point.  They finished first and second in the Men's Singles one week later and along with Sweden's Jan-Ove Waldner, they are the only ones to have won singles at the Olympics, World Championships, and Continental Championships.

Sally moved to the US in February 2006 and finished in third place in a junior girls event at a tournament in Tianjin before her move here.  She has finished in first place in junior girls at the Berkeley and Stanford NATT tournaments and is currently coached by Masaaki Tajima at the Sunset club so spends time there during the weekends.  She likes writing and music and has the ambitious goal of writing her own novel one day.  Maybe we should convince her to write one about travels in table-tennis!
