| BIO:
Thinh first got started in tennis and on a rainy day, played some table-tennis. Soon, as many of the other Northern California players, he was hooked. He started playing table-tennis in 1984 and has been hitting the small celluloid ball since. Even after over 20 years, he is still learning as he plays. His favorite part of table-tennis is the mental game as table-tennis has been referred to as "physical chess." Thinh calls table-tennis a "thinking man's sport." His favorite international players are Jan-Ove Waldner of Sweden and Kong Linghui of China. He likes Waldner's calmness and how he has a reserve of tactics against everyone. He likes Kong for his fighting spirit as he never gives up even if he is down. Thinh has met Waldner and Swedish teammate Jorgen Persson when the Gilbert Cup was held in the late nineties in Southern California. He calls the US Open his favorite tournament as he can play and watch the world-class players in action. Thinh's best win is Misha Kazantsev at a Chinese tournament. Along with this sport, a family with two daughters and his mechanical engineering profession keeps himself busy.
