BIO:
Tuan Anh has spent nearly all his life in the Vietnamese capital of Ho
Chi Minh until his recent move to America in 2000. His father introduced
Tuan Anh to the game when he was ten years old and after years of hard work,
he became the city champion in men's singles of Ho Chi Minh and by
profession was a fulltime professional table-tennis player from 1986 through
1999. Vietnam has hundreds of professional players as table-tennis is a very
popular sport there, second in popularity only to soccer. He was ranked in
the top 20 in Vietnam in men's singles and amazingly, reached his level
without the assistance of a coach. His best win in the US is against Bay
Area's Wu Wei and had a near-upset win against 4-time World Team Member
Barney Reed recently as he had a 3-1 lead in the best of seven. He makes his
living in the US as a loan processor and aims to play for the US Team. He is
very physically fit and enjoys swimming, running, and other forms of
physical training.
