BIO:
Table-tennis, being one of the top five most popular
sports in the Philippines, got Voltaire's interest at the age of 13. He was
introduced to the sport by his father and began receiving coaching at the
National Training Center in the Philippines. His ranking escalated in the
Philippines to #7 in the men's division. In his early twenties, Voltaire
moved to the US to escape the political turmoil in his home country. Since
his move here, he has worked as an international trader, logistics
administrator, sales
rep, and now works as a realtor for Prudential Realty. His best tournament
win is against 2003 US World Championship Team Member De Tran and he has won
rating events at the Senior Nationals. We can call him the old man of the
team as he is one of the eldest players but is still incredibly fit. He
suffered a serious motorcycle accident and broke his femur and had to be
replaced from his Palo Alto league in the 2005 TMS Semester Smash league.
He is back playing but still plays with a noticeable limp.
He has become a USATT Certified Regional Coach and has
given private lessons at the Silicon Valley Table Tennis Club. He is a
regular at the Palo Alto Table Tennis Club and plays for exercise and the
love of the game.
